Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has flown 341 times in 800 days, say state government records.

Several of the trips were to her home state Madhya Pradesh and to Uttranchal, according to these statistics.

On an average Raje travels 300 km daily. In her 800-day regime, she has travelled 13 times on chartered planes, accounting for 54 aerial hours that has cost Rs six million.

The Chief Minister has flown both for personal and official reasons.

Rajasthan's cabinet ministers are also frequently taking to air and road journeys.

So far they have flown 41 times to various parts of the country. Forest Minister Laxmi Narayan Dave, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore and Social Welfare Minister Madan Dilawar top the list.

The Congress is objecting to the high aerial mobility.

"Raje and her ministers have set a remarkable travelling record. They have no time to address public grievances or other development issues. They only waste public money on aerial tours," said Congress leader Raghu Sharma.

But the Government defends the Chief Minister's travels.

"Do you want the Chief Minister to travel by a bullock cart? When time is of the essence, you have to travel by air. She (Raje) has done nothing wrong," says Rajasthan's forest minister, L N Dave.
