“By failing to take steps to control the prices of essential commodities, the UDF Govt is causing further misery to the common man. The UDF rule is leading the state to disaster,” CPI leader C Divakaran has said.
Inaugurating the district representatives meeting of All Kerala Headload Workers Union (AITUC), the other day, he said that the Centre had already increased the price of petrol and diesel several times. The State Govt has failed to take any action against blackmarketing and hoarding, he said. Ration shops in the state do not have enough stock of rice and kerosene. The UDF Government is destroying the achievements of the previous LDF Govt. Housing schemes for the poor have also been sabotaged. The government had even frozen the benefits of the headload workers, he said. Dist president Kuttiyanikkadu Madhu presided over the meeting.
