PARADIP: Paradip Port Trust (PPT) authorities on Tuesday detained a Vietnamese flag vessel and its 25 crew members on the direction of the Bombay High Court.Sources said the owner of the vessel, Golden Falcon, had defaulted on payment to a fuel supplier.The Singapore-based fuel supply firm had filed a writ petition in the Bombay High Court through their Indian lawyers. The petitioner had sought detention of the vessel till the payment of the outstanding amount which runs into crores of rupees.Meanwhile, the vessel anchored here on March 24 for unloading 12,439 MT of RP coke for Goa Carbon Limited. While it was ready to sail for Goa, the PPT authorities detained the vessel on receiving a communication from the HC. The vessel has now been shifted to the port anchorage.Confirming the news, PPT Deputy Conservator Gauri Prasad Biswal said the vessel was detained for nonpayment of dues.Four vessels have so far been detained in the port this year, he added.
