Mumbai: In a shocking case of apathy, NCP leaders reportedly looked the other way when five policemen in Sharad Pawar's convoy were injured in a road accident.
The incident occurred in Buldhana district of Maharashtra on Saturday. The police jeep, the last one in the convoy, overturned after running over a big stone on the Balapur-Shegaon road after the driver lost control.
The policemen were trapped inside. But their cries for help fell on the deaf ears of NCP leaders who didn't bother to stop their cars and come back to rescue them. Alert villagers rushed to the site and took the injured men to a nearby hospital. One policeman suffered a head injury.
A Tamil Nadu cop was also left to die on the road side while ministers looked the other way a few months ago.
