New Delhi: In a shocking incident, two South African nationals were assaulted and looted of their belongings in the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh after locals suspected them of carrying beef.

According to MP police state, the mob that attacked W A Jacob and Gordon M M C is suspected to be linked to a Hindu organisation. Both the men were on way to Nagpur in a jeep.

At least 15 people were booked in Parasia village for allegedly attacking Jacob and Gordon M M C, employees of a South African firm working on a mining contract here.

According to the complaint filed by the foreigners, the group accused them of carrying beef and ran off with their cash and mobile phones.
