Fire department told CNN-IBN that the fire was caused by a cylinder explosion, but unclear as to how many cylinders exploded.
A massive fire broke out in the Damu Nagar slum in Kandivali area of Mumbai, killing at least one person and injuring three others. The injured were rushed to nearby Shatabdi hospital.
The fire is reportedly not under control. Fire department told CNN-IBN that the fire was caused by a cylinder explosion, but unclear as to how many cylinders exploded.
As many as 12 fire engines and five ambulances reached the spot and hospitals in the vicinity were alerted.
Fire call came in at around 12:45 pm, following which fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
Reports said that it was a warehouse fire that swept through the slum after triggering a series of gas cylinder explosions.
