Kohima: Four persons were on Tuesday charred to death and nine were injured while several houses gutted in a fire which broke out after a powerful blast occurred at Wokha Town of Nagaland, police said.
The blast occurred at around 11:30 am from a gun shop while the fire turned ravaging with the blast of gas cylinders, they said. Four persons were charred to death while around nine others have been admitted and undergoing treatment in the hospital, police said.
The fire had engulfed some commercial and residential buildings in Wokha Town, some 76 km from the state capital, police said. Fire fighters from the Fire and Emergency Services, security forces and neighbours managed to douse the fire after several hours.
