Varun Dhawan is over the moon with the arrival of his baby girl. The actor along with Natasha Dalal welcomed their first child yesterday at Mumbai’s Hinduja Hospital. Amid all the heartfelt wishes pouring in, the actor took to his social media handle to welcome his daughter with a heartfelt post. The post was also accompanied by a gratitude note.
The heartfelt video, featured an illustration of Varun’s pet dog Joey who was seen holding a placard that read ‘Welcome Lil sis’. The video post also read, “Baby Dhawan, Proud parents Natasha and Varun, Proud Family – ‘Dalals and Dhawans’. Expressing his joy, Varun wrote, “Our Baby Girl Is Here,” and added, Thank u for all the good wishes for the mama and the baby.’
The post also read, “We are overjoyed with this new blessing in our lives. During this special time, we request the media to give us our privacy. Thank you for your support and understanding.”
Interestingly, Varun had himself expressed that he wanted to have a baby girl some day. On Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan 5, Varun, who shared the couch with Alia Bhatt opened up on having a baby girl some day in the future. During a rapid-fire round, while naming a few actors, Karan asked Varun, “What do the following have that you don’t?” When the filmmaker mentioned Shahid Kapoor’s name, he shared, He has a baby girl. I don’t want his baby girl. I want my own.” He added, “Shahid, your child is yours. I don’t want your child,” he added.
He further spoke about having a child of his own someday and added, “I do wanna get married. I wanna have babies, actually. I want to have a child. I love children, and I wanna have my own little one.”
Varun and Natasha are known to be childhood sweethearts who dated for many years and finally tied the knot on January 24, 2021 in the presence of their families and closest friends. Varun’s journey to winning Natasha’s heart wasn’t a walk in the park. In a candid interview with Kareena Kapoor Khan on her radio show, Varun shared the surprising revelation that Natasha had rejected his proposal multiple times.
The actor, known for his roles in Bollywood hits, opened up about their long-standing friendship, that eventually blossomed into love. “The first time I met Natasha was in the sixth standard. We were friends till the eleventh or twelfth grade. We were very close friends, Varun revealed during the interview. Recalling their early school days, he mentioned a memorable encounter on the basketball court, saying, I remember seeing her, and, when I saw her that day, I felt like I fell in love with her,” he said.
