HYDERABAD: Loose cannon minister P Shankar Rao was again the target of complaints from his colleagues at the cabinet meeting Wednesday. Several of them complained to the chief minister that they are riled no end by Shankar Rao’s penchant for self goals, the latest of which he scored by revealing that “many ministers” have “earned crores” by way of corrupt deeds. However, Shankar Rao -- a regular absentee from cabinet meetings -- was not the only minister to draw flak in Wednesday’s meeting; the chief minister himself drew friendly fire for his tendency to announce welfare schemes without informing the minister concerned.Among those peeved by the CM’s ways was transport minister and PCC chief Botcha Satayanaryana. He is learnt to have asked Kiran Kumar Reddy to at least inform the minister concerned before announcing any new scheme. As for Shankar Rao playing for the opposition, several ministers wanted the chief minister to reprimand him and send a complaint to the Congress high command.“If Shanker Rao has any proof of corruption by any minister, he should present it in public or in court,” one minister fumed. The chief minister is learnt to have pacified them that the party high command is seized of the matter.Minister P Sailajanath reportedly raised the issue of the management of GVKEMRI leaking news about the government’s delay in release of funds for its health services.Transport minister Botcha Satyanarayana joined the argument, stating that GVKEMRI was making unnecessary statements.
