Kairali, Sree and Kalabhavan set to reopen on November 30

Offering a nice visual treat to the audience, the renovated Kairali, Sree and Kalabhavan theatres in the city are set to  reopen on November 30 this year.

The Kairali-Sree theatre complex would come up as a multiplex with three theatres altogether. “The Kairali theatre would have a 2K projection facility with a seating capacity of 500. Sree would maintain the same number of seats, which is less than 300. The new theatre in the complex would have a seating capacity of 200,” said Sabu Cherian, chairman of the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC).

The ticket fare at the multiplex too may increase. With the renovation, the Kairali theatre would also get a modern food court.

After the renovation, the Kalabhavan theatre at Vazhuthacaud would have 60-inch-wide seats. Earlier, the theatre had 144 seats in the balcony and 360 seats in the reserved section.

When the new seats are placed, nearly 12 seats in the balcony would get reduced. The theatre would be equipped with the latest sound system. It would also become a film releasing centre.
