KOCHI: Justice Manjula Chellur of the Karnataka High Court is likely to be appointed as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court.The proposal for appointing Manjula as a judge of the High Court has been approved by the President of India. Once appointed, she will be the seniormost judge in the High Court and will be elevated as its Chief Justice. Presently, Justice C N Ramachandran Nair is acting as the Chief Justice. Manjula enrolled as an advocate on August 11, 1978 and practised in courts in Bellary district.She joined the Karnataka Judicial Service as a District Judge on April 15, 1988. She was promoted as a District Judge (Super Time Scale) on December 12, 1994 and was appointed an Additional Judge of the High Court of Karnataka on February 21, 2000 and as a permanent Judge on August 17 in the same year.
