New Delhi: After remain missing for more than 36 hours, wreckage of the Kenyan Airways plane carrying 114 people, including 15 Indians was found on Sunday in a mangrove forest in Cameroon, a Kenyan Civil Aviation Authority official said.
The wreckage was found about six miles outside Douala but there was no word yet on survivors or the condition of the jetliner.
Earlier helicopters and motorbikes searched a swathe of thick forest, roughly 100 southwest of the Cameroon capital Yaounde on Saturday, but had to suspend the search overnight due to darkness and heavy rain.
The Boeing 737-800, which began its journey in the Ivory Coast city of Abidjan, lost contact with the radio tower between 11 and 13 minutes after taking off from Douala airport in western Cameroon in a violent storm after Friday midnight.
Before the wreckage was found, family members of the passengers and crew of Flight 507 gathered at the Nairobi and Douala airports, where the airline opened crisis centres.
The plane was carrying 105 passengers from at least 23 countries and nine Kenyan crewmembers.
The Indian High Commission in Kenya on Sunday released the list of 15 Indians who were among the 114 passengers on board the Kenyan Airliner that crashed in Cameroon.

Amol Chauhan, son of Parle Products Managing Director Sharad Chauhan, won two silver medals in the Guwahati National Games this year.
