New Delhi: The Indian government on Wednesday congratulated President Barack Obama on his re-election and his second term in the White House. President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh separately sent messages of congratulations to Obama upon his re-election.
The Ministry of External Affairs issued a press release on Wednesday after Obama crossed the half-way mark of 27 electoral votes to defeat his Republican rival Mitt Romney. "India and the US have developed extensive bilateral cooperation and partnership based on shared values based on belief in democracy, the rule of law and pluralism. We look forward to continuing to deepen and widen the engagement between India and the US in the years ahead," said the press release.

Results of the election for the next President of the United States show that President Barack Obama has been re-elected for a second term of four years.
The Government and people of India send their congratulations to President Obama on his winning a second mandate from the people of the U.S.A. who have expressed their will in the great tradition of democracy in their country. President Shri Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh are separately sending messages of congratulations to President Obama upon his re-election.
