New Delhi: Lewis Hamilton arrived at the headquarters of Formula One in Paris on Monday for a hearing that could overturn the outcome of the recently concluded Belgian Grand Prix.
Race stewards stripped the Mclaren driver of victory at the race and demoted him to third for cutting a chicane. The incident happened during the closing stages of the race when Hamilton was trying to overtake Ferrari's Kimi Raikonnen.
Race stewards imposed a 25-second penalty on Hamilton and Ferrari's Felipe Massa was promoted from second to first position.
Mclaren bosses have attended the hearing with Hamilton, and if the race verdict is overruled, then Hamilton's lead over Massa will increase from one point to seven in the Driver's Championships with four races remaining.
