Fire at Nagarjuna Sagar power unit

NALGONDA: Fire broke out in the fifth unit of the Nagarjuna Sagar power house on Friday morning. The cause of fire is not yet known. According to sources, noticing flames, the technical engineer had switched off the power to all the eight units which generate 100 MW each.Later, officials checked the burnt unit and resumed power supply to other seven units. GENCO officials were called to review the situation. Officials said that it would take three months to import another machine.
