BANGALORE: The High Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition filled by a farmer of Hebbal near Mysore for suppressing the truth and fined him Rs 10,000 for suppressing truth.His previous petition regarding the KIADB land acquisition was dismissed in 1992 and he had filed the same petition again after 19 years without mentioning that the court had rejected the petition earlier.Justice B V Nagarathna fined him Rs 10,000 and said, "This is the preliminary hearing. So we are fining a small amount."She warned him to not to repeat the incident again.Notice to GovernmentThe High Court on Wednesday issued notices to Union Forest Department, Ministry of Environment and Forests and the State Government on the conversion of 88 acre of forest land into government land in Talguppa and Karehalli village of Shimoga district.The petitioner Veerendra R Patil, in his submission, stated the Forest Department had not followed rules while converting the forest land.For the conversion of forest land to any purpose, they should take permission from Union government. But without taking the permission from the central government, the department had acquired land in Talguppa and Karehalli in Shimoga district, he argued.The taluk tashildar also gave illegal documents in 2003 for the purpose, he contended.A division bench consisting of Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice H G Ramesh, issued a notice to Union Forest Department, Ministry of Environment and the State government in this regard.
