THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An all-India seminar and exhibition on ‘Recent trends in agricultural mechanisation for efficiency improvement’ will be held in the city on August 29 and 30. The event, planned at the Institution of Engineers campus, Vellayambalam, will provide a golden opportunity for farmers and the general public to get acquainted with modern agricultural equipment. The event is being jointly organised by the Institution of Engineers, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering of the Kerala Agricultural University, Agriculture Department, Kerala Agro Industries Corporation, KLDB and Alumni Association of KCAET. Experts from related fields will present papers at the seminar. The exhibition is open to the public free of cost. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the event on August 29 at a function presided over by Agriculture Minister K P Mohanan. K Muraleedharan MLA will inaugurate the exhibition. Palode Ravi MLA will inaugurate the valedictory function on August 30. The seminar and exhibition have as their theme, ‘A farm machine for every home.’
