Islamabad: At least eight people were killed and 20 others injured on Monday in a bomb blast outside a Sufi shrine in the central Pakistani city of Pakpattan.
About 200 people had gathered inside for morning prayers. The bomb is believed to have been planted on a motorbike parked near the Shrine's eastern Gate. Ten neighbouring shops were also damaged. Police and rescue officials have reached the spot and the injured are being shifted to nearby hospitals. This is the second blast at a Sufi shrine in the last eighteen days.
The shrine was evacuated and closed for visitors following the blast. Rescue workers rushed to the site and took the injured to the nearby hospital.
