Hit the “Multiplayer” option.
Find the “Multiplayer” button on the home screen. Look on the right-hand side of the home page to find a list of game modes. “Multiplayer” is typically the second option down, between “Ranked Match” and “Battle Royale.”
Open the menu and set the game to “Private.”
Tap the ≣ Menu button in the top-right corner. The menu button pulls up a vertical list of options, with “Private” being at the very bottom. Hit “Private” to close your game off to strangers so only your friends can join. The app will now redirect you to a private multiplayer game lobby.
Switch the game mode to “1v1 Duel.”
Use the “Mode Change” option to make your adjustments. Look for a bright yellow button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen with a Windows Update = Windows icon on it. Using the horizontal menu that pops up, select the “1v1 Duel” option to create an exclusive face-off for you and your friend. Don’t worry about changing the game parameters or presets. The game automatically applies settings meant for a 1v1 match.
Invite your friend to the game.
Hit the “Invite” panel on the right side of the screen. Any online friends will be highlighted on the panel—just tap their names to send them an invite to your 1v1. Their username and icon pops up in your private multiplayer lobby as soon as they accept the invitation. If you don’t have your friend added yet, hit the third tab on top of the “Invite” panel and search for their username.
Tap “Start” to begin the game.
Enjoy a fun battle without worrying about your rank. CoD: Mobile classifies 1v1 Duels as custom games rather than as established matches. Because of this, your match-up won’t positively or negatively impact your rank. With this in mind, feel free to challenge your friends of all skill levels to 1v1 matches!
