New Delhi: Anna Hazare, whose fast entered the ninth day on Wednesday, refused to be put on a intravenous drip despite doctors advising him to do so once again on Wednesday morning, his close associate said.
"Anna has refused to take the IV drip after doctors advised him to take it following a check up this morning," activist Manish Sisodia told reporters in New Delhi.
He has lost another 200 grams in the past 24 hours with his weight settling at 66.2 kg. He was 72 kg before he began his fast on August 16.
His blood pressure was recorded at 104/86 while blood sugar was 106 and pulse rate 82.
Hazare on Tuesday disregarded doctor's advice to be put on Intravenous (IV) drip and refused to take any medicine and warned government against trying to forcibly evict him from the protest site of Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi.
The team of doctors headed by Naresh Trehan had advised Hazare to get hospitalised but the Gandhian refused to do so.
"The entire team has examined Hazare. There are changes in his vital signs. We told him that he needs hospitalisation. But he refused saying I want to be here with the people," Trehan had said.
