HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had to taste the wrath of pro- Telangana youths who raised slogans demanding separate Telangana state during the launch of ‘Rajiv Yuvakiranalu’ at Gadwal in Mahaboobnagar on Saturday.The chief minister had to pacify them by saying that the Centre would take a decision on the issue within three months.Soon after the chief minister arrived at the venue, about 50 students threw the chairs in the air demanding separate Telangana state and rushed towards the dais.One of them even threw the chair at the dais but was unsuccessful.The police used mild force to control the crowd.Later, the police allowed only girl students to attend the meeting leading to protests by students and pro-Telangana activists.Sensing the public mood, the chief minister, who after launching the Rajiv Yuavakiranalu scheme, announced that the Centre is committed to find a solution to separate Telangana issue and will take a decision within three months.He pointed out that the government took the initiative in getting the clause 14(f) removed from the Presidential Order bringing Hyderabad under Zone VI for recruitment in the police department.Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the Rajiv Yuvakiranalu scheme was launched as part of the Rajiv Education and Employment Mission with an aim to providing 15 lakh jobs to unemployed youth in different sectors apart from one lakh jobs in government departments.Earlier in the day, about 150 students took out a rally raising slogans of ‘Jai Telangana’ and ‘CM go back’ leading to a mild tension in Gadwal town.Miffed over the arrest of their friends, some students climbed a water tank demanding an announcement on separate Telangana failing which they threatened to set themselves ablaze.However, the police pacified them and managed to bring them down.
