BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda owns five houses - one in Bangalore which is under construction and four in his native. Gowda, in his assets and liabilities statement filed before the Lokayukta has claimed that the present value of his 50X80 site in HSR Layout was Rs. 20 lakh whereas, its present value could be above Rs. 2.5 crore. This site was allotted to Gowda by the BDA under the CM’s discretionery quota. Gowda is reportedly building a commercial complex on this site. This apart, Gowda owns over 10.5 acres of land worth Rs. 11.49 lakh - half of which were inherited. The chief minister is also armed with two weapons - 0.32 revolver worth Rs. 55,000 which he had purchased in 2002 and SPBL gun of 1989 make worth Rs. 8,500. He owns a scorpio worth Rs. 12.1 lakh. Gowda has loans and advances amounting to Rs. 1.6 crore. His wife Datty is worth Rs. 1.17 crore and invested in shares worth Rs. 45 lakh.
