CID gets 5-day custody of accused in CDR leak case

A local court on Thursday granted five-day custody of KV Reddy, the first person to be arrested in the CBI joint director V V Lakshminarayana call data record leakage case, to the Crime Investigation Department (CID) for questioning.

Venka Reddy, vice-president of Ind Barath Energies (Maharashtra) Limited was accused of filing a complaint with the Mukhed police seeking the call data of the phone numbers of Lakshminarayana. Venka Reddy claimed that he followed the instructions of his chairman, Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, who is accused no 1 in the case. Venka Reddy is named as accused no 4 in the case.

The CID told the court that Reddy gave a complaint to Mukhed police station in Marathi language, which was written by a woman in Nanded. and hence Reddy should be taken to various places in Maharashtra to identify the woman.

The agency also wanted to question Reddy about the involvement of other accused and their role in the call data leakage.
