CHOTTANIKKARA: A group of talented schoolchildren from in and around Chottanikkara jointly celebrated the ninth anniversary of their small radio club.“This is our ninth anniversary and all these years we have been moulding many talented youngsters,” said A A Madanamohan, patron of the radio club. “When we formed the Radio Club we never thought it will be so popular in the hi-tech era. However, within a short span of two years we realised the potential of the club,” he said.The members have made it a habit to listen to the radio.This habit helped us to be updated about so many developments which in turn enabled us to cop with various challenges related to education,” said Revathy Mohan, a member of the club who got A+ in all the subjects in the recently held SSLC exam. Moreover, the get-togethers gave students a platform to share their knowledge in various subjects including music, science and environment.They engages in creative debates and discussions at the club.All the members of the club are trained in Akshara Shlokam. “We participate in the Akshara Shloka Sadassus at various temples and literary forums,” Madanamohan said. “We are participating in Kavya Kali by including the lines from Adhyatma Ramayanam for the last few years,” he said.Mulanthuruthy Block Panchayat president Rees Puthenveedan inaugurated the ninth annual celebrations of the Radio Club. Club patron and library president A A Madanamohan presided over the function. Mohanan Master, Maya Mohan, V P Vijayan and A K Das (Progressive Art and Literary Forum) spoke on the occasion.Sreeram and his group presented chendamelam. Revathy Mohan and Vyshali Venugopal who got A+ in all the subjects in the recently held SSLC examinations were honoured.
