Tannaz and Bakhtyar Irani are a beloved couple in the television industry, often seen as role models for many fans. Their strong bond has inspired many, but not everyone knows about the struggles they faced before settling together. In a recent episode of Couple of Things podcast, hosted by Amrita Rao and RJ Anmol, the couple opened up about their love story, which they compared with a typical Bollywood movie. Tannaz and Bakhtyar revealed that they lived together for a year before tying the knot. Tannaz shared a memorable moment from their past when they were both kicked out of their homes on her birthday because their families were against their relationship.
The Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai actress recalled, “We were dating for one year, before we got married and parents were very upset, we were thrown out, that’s why we were living in. It was like a proper Bollywood movie. He was thrown out of the house and on my birthday, 36 China Town’s music release was released, which happens to be my birthday. Everyone was wishing and congratulating me. Later, we both were eating idli and sambar, after running away from my house and I was feeling that my whole life which I had decorated very well, I have no idea what will happen to it."
Bakhtyar shared, “Her family was going out of town and they’re leaving for some place and I was told to wait downstairs. When the family leaves then I was allowed inside the house." Tannaz added, “I told Bakhtyar, ‘Please leave the house, please go out of the house, I want to talk to my family, please get out of here.’ Later, we were holding hands, there was a fight, not raising hands, only verbal, a lot of things were happening. He was crying, poor guy. I was also confused."
Tannaz claimed she felt a weight on her shoulders because everything seemed perfect on the outside, but then Bakhtyar came into her life and shook everything. When he decided to leave his home, she assured him that she will return and asked him to trust her. Bakhtyar added that he told her if she didn’t come down in an hour, he will leave. Just as he was about to go, she grabbed his hand and told him she was with him, despite their families not supporting their relationship. At that moment, he didn’t realise that she was also thrown out of her home. Surprisingly, Bakhtyar already had a place for them to stay.
After they started living together, Tannaz claimed, “Unless both the parents will not give us blessing, we will not get married." Finally, after a lot of convincing and challenges, Tannaz and Bakhtyar tied the knot in 2007. The couple welcomed their son, Zeus, in 2008, followed by their daughter, Zara, in 2011.
