Central aid for KCP hall work assured

BANGALORE:  External Affairs Minister S M Krishna offered the Union Government’s assistance for the construction of an auditorium at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat (KCP) in the city.Laying the foundation stone for the construction work, Krishna said that he could make a request for funds from the Centre if the Parishat sends a proposal.BBMP Commissioner M K Shankaralinge Gowda said that the cost of the auditorium’s construction work would come up to Rs 1.5 crore. Krishna added that both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi would be happy to financially assist any venture related to the promotion of art and culture. He also said that he would invite Sonia Gandhi to inaugurate the auditorium.
