BHUBANESWAR: Noted businessman Sardar Tajinder Singh, 64, has passed away. Singh, ailing for a long time, had been on ventilator support for about eight years. The end came on Sunday morning at Kalinga Hospital where he was admitted three days ago after his health condition deteriorated.Born in 1947, Singh was instrumental in the establishment of the famous garment store ‘Kalamandir’ in the Capital and went on to spread the family business over the years. He was a key force behind setting up of Hotel Royale Midtown, a business class hotel.Educated in Bhubaneswar, Singh was a member of the Aviation Club and also possessed a licence. He was a keen golfer too. Singh was also the former president of Reliance Club. Business community of the State has deeply mourned his death.
