SHIMOGA: State BJP president K S Eshwarappa targeted Governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj yet again, saying he would write to the President of India to bring an amendment to the Constitution to limit the powers of Governors.Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Eshwarappa accused the Governor of being hand in gloves with the opposition parties in Karnataka.”The Governor has exceeded his limitations. According to the constitution, the duty of the opposition parties is to keep a critical vigil on the ruling party. Instead in Karnataka, the Governor invites the opposition party to Rajbhavan to discuss about the ruling party,” fumed Eshwarappa. Eshwarappa opined that Minister C P Yogeshwara was innocent and was being framed by the opposition for political gains. Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Eshwarappa claimed that the allegations made by the opposition leaders targeting Yogeshwara over Megacity  Project were baseless. He hit back at JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy and said, “H D Kumaraswamy was behaving like Satya Harishchandra till recently. But now both Kumaraswamy and his wife-MLA Anitha Kumaraswamy are attending court hearings over irregularities related to a mining lease and obtaining a site in return for favouring a housing society.”Confident of winning the Koppal bypolls, Eshwarappa said, “BJP candidate Sanganna Karadi’s winning prospects brightened the minute he joined BJP from JD(S)), bringing with him a grant of Rs. 262 crore.” Pro-people programmes adopted by the state government and the honest efforts put in by the party workers in the district would ensure BJP a win in Koppal bypolls,  he said.
