Motihari: A goods train has been derailed at Motihari in Bihar. The incident took place just 60 kilometers away from Chapra where 12 coaches of a train got derailed resulting in the death of four people and injuring eight others.
The Railways is suspecting foul play behind the derailment saying that Naxals could have been behind the attack. "Prima facie cause of accident is sabotage cause maoists have been believed to announce their blockade for today,"
Railway Board chief Arundendra Kumar said.
"We are investigating all angles but there is no evidence of sabotage by Naxals as of now," ASP Chapra Sushil Kumar said.
Train operations on the line have been stopped as rescue operations are on. "Right now we will start the work on one line. The other line will take time to be restored so we will get some extra cranes for that. But one line will be restored hopefully by this evening so that communication is re established," General manager East central railway Madhuresh Kumar said.
