New Delhi: Bharti Yadav, the elusive witness in the Nitish Katara murder case and sister of the prime accused Vikas Yadav, on Tuesday moved a Delhi court seeking a bar on the presence of the victim's mother Neelam Katara during her testimony.
Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur has issued a notice to the prosecution for November 23, seeking its reply on the application moved by her counsel.
On Monday, Kaur had ordered in-camera proceedings during the recording of Bharti's statement from which the media was barred.
It had, however, allowed Neelam Katara to attend the testimony.
Meanwhile, main accused Vikas and Vishal Yadav have slapped a Rs 20 crore defamation notice against Public Prosecutor B S Joon.
The accused have alleged that by revealing Bharati Yadav's whereabouts to the media and by suggesting that Bharati was pressurised by the accused, the public prosecutor defamed both of them.
