Amitabh Bachchan Says 'Hardly Anyone' Recognises Him In Public: 'But If Aamir, SRK Or Salman Walk...' | Viral

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan is a massive superstar with fans in every generation. Thus, when he said that people hardly look at him in public, he left his fans surprised. This old interaction has resurfaced on the microblogging site, Reddit and has gone viral in no time.

In an earlier interview, Anupama Chopra asked Amitabh Bachchan how he comforts himself during failure. “I don’t. You just keep moving on. Hopefully, somebody will come to you and want to make a film with you. I think there are ups and downs in everyone’s lives. It would be impossible to believe that none of us have had failure in our lives and that all of us have had continued success all our lives,” Bachchan said.

The Kalki 2898 AD actor said, “Maybe in the 70s or 80s, I could walk into a restaurant and have several people looking at me but I walk in now and hardly anyone looks at me. But if two seconds later, you have an Aamir, a Shah Rukh or a Salman walking in, the place would go crazy. That’s a gauge of your standing. It’s also a gauge of what they are but it’s inadvertently a gauge of where you are standing now.”

When asked how he makes peace with this decline in superstardom, he quipped, “How do you make peace? Just go, order your food and eat. Khaana khaane aaye hain, khaana khaayenge. Aur kya hai? (We have come to eat, we will eat. What else?)”

While Amitabh Bachchan has seen several highs and lows in his career, he is currently enjoying the massive success of his recent film, Kalki 2898 AD. Amitabh Bachchan played Ashwatthama in the Nag Ashwin directorial and fans lauded his ‘larger than life’ characterisation. The film also featured Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan alongside Bachchan.

Amitabh Bachchan has also returned for yet another season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. The actor reprised his role as the host for KBC 16 and impressed fans with his dedication and hard work. The new season has brought a couple of changes in the format. Amitabh revealed that contestants on the hot seat can now opt for ‘Dugnaastra’, in which the amount they are playing for can be doubled. They will be presented with a ‘super sawaal’. As interesting as this sounds, there is one catch — the question will not have options.
