I just came to see if they were safe,” said an account holder. Customers, who came at 9.30 am, were made to wait till 10 am to enter the bank as the staff claimed that fingerprint experts would be arriving on the premises. They were let in after 10 am as no experts turned up.A guard from a private security firm was seen standing at the entrance. Another armed guard was also seen in the vicinity. “More than the incident, it is the police investigation that was tiring as we were all here till 10.30 in the night,” a staff claimed. A security officer of the bank, who visited the branch on Tuesday, said that account holders need not worry. “The bank is working as usual and the customers need not worry about the safety of their money,” said Captain Chidambaram, state security officer, IOB.
