NEWDELHI/HYDERABAD: After several rounds of discussion with Congress leaders from all the three regions in Andhra Pradesh on the issue of separate Telangana State, incharge of party affairs in the State, Ghulam Nabi Azad, on Friday submitted a detailed report to Congress president Sonia Gandhi.Amid mounting pressure on the Congress High Command for an early decision on Telangana, the Congress core committee started deliberations on the report by Azad to party president. This is for the first time that Sonia Gandhi attended the core committee meeting after she returned from abroad.According to sources, Azad is understood to have suggested a solution to the burning issue. Sources said Azad verbally reported the ground- level situation in the State.Meanwhile, the bandh called by the Telangana Joint Action Committee on Friday in Hyderabad evoked lukewarm response, with some of the shops in the interior areas of the city remaining open. Roads were busy until about 11 am on Friday as many organisations functioned despite the bandh call. The IT industry and colleges, which had decided to take a call on Friday morning, functioned as usual.
