SALEM: Koushika Boopathy, political PA of former agriculture minister Veerapandi S Arumugam, jumped bail conditions stipulated by the Madras High Court.Following this, police have intensified their search for him.While Koushika Boopathy failed to surrender before the City Crime Branch on Thursday as per the bail conditions of the Madras High Court, Veerapandi S Arumugam’s nephew K Suresh Kumar, a co-accused in all the land grab cases against the ex-minister, presented himself before the investigating agency at 9 am on Thursday. Suresh Kumar, Vice Chairman of the Salem District Panchayat, a prime accused in the case of six murders appeared before the CCB.Koushika Boopathy and Suresh Kumar had sought bail at the Madras High Court in the Angammal Colony, Premier Mills and Dasanikenpati land grab case. The High Court granted bail subject to the condition that the duo have to surrender before the agency investigating land grab cases and make available themselves for a three-day interrogation in police custody. On completion of this exercise they should pledge sureties in the judicial magistrate court to fulfil the bail conditions. It remains to be seen if Suresh Kumar will also be arrested.Deputy Commissioner of Police Sathya Priya, the head of the investigation team, said that the court would be informed about Koushika Boopathy’s failure to carry out its orders. In any case the police would intensify the search for him, she said.In yet another development today the City Police arrested all the remaining accused in the Angammal Colony case. The Sooramangalam police picked up DMK councillor ‘Gym’ Ramu, Congress functionary Ulaganambi, former AIADMK councillor and branch secretary Santhanandan and Kulla Murgesan. All the above were granted conditional bail earlier. Police said that the cases under eight sections have been filed against them. The action follows a fresh complaint by Balasubramani and Dhanalakshmi both AIADMK supporters and fish sellers in Sooramangalam.
