NEDUMBASSERY: The Kochi International Airport witnessed some tense moments on Sunday when news came out from the airside that the vehicle in which BJP leader L K Advani and daughter came to the airport had some troubles.According to police, Advani and daughter came to the airport in a Tata Safari bulletproof car of the Kerala Police, accompanied by a convoy of security personnel and party leaders. Advani’s vehicle was allowed to proceed to the runway through Gate No 1 of the airport at 3.50 pm. Ernakulam Rural Special Branch DySP A Anilkumar and CISF top personnel were waiting near the runway. Later, Advani and his daughter boarded the chartered flight. Meanwhile, a security personnel noticed that the car, which brought Advani and daughter to the airside, developed minor fuel leakage. The vehicle was immediately taken out of the airside and brought to the Nedumbassery Police Station.Driver Vikraman of the Kerala Police was questioned in this connection.A detailed probe will be conducted into the incident and report will be submitted to the higher-ups, DySP A Anilkumar told ‘Express’.Expert technicians will examine the car. A high-level probe into the incident is also expected.
