New Delhi: A seven-year-old girl was raped by three youths, two of who are her neighbours, on Sunday night in east Delhi's Mandavali area, police said on Monday.
The girl who was picked up while she was asleep has been hospitalised with injuries to her private parts and is recuperating, police added.
According to police, the incident occurred on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
"The girl was sleeping in the fields in the floodplains of Yamuna river when the three persons gagged her and took her to spot where they took turns to raped her," a senior police officer told IANS.
"We have apprehended all the three accused," Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Rishi Pal told reporters.
The accused have been identified as Bhure, 19, Amir, 21, and Bhim Sen, 19, police said.
According to police, two of the accused are neighbours of the victim.
