Eye masks have been a wonderful solution for many people who need to sleep in a lit area. Eye masks can assist shift workers, long-haul flyers and morning larks who sleep alongside a night owl who reads late into the night. Eye masks are also used for obtaining peace when resting and can be used for some beauty treatments. Whipping up your own simple (unpadded) homemade eye mask can be done in just a few minutes, as you'll discover here.
Creating the Pattern
Draw the pattern. This is a fairly simple pattern that you can draw freehand. Alternatively, use the template guide provided here. Cut the pattern out from the pattern paper.Make Eye Mask in a Few Minutes Step 1Bullet1.jpg
Place the pattern onto the felt or cotton fabric. Cut out two pieces of felt or cotton fabric using the template.
Assembling the Eye Mask
Use fabric glue to affix the two pieces of felt or cotton fabric together. (Or, use sewing pins if preferred.)
Sew a seam stitch around the edges of the two mask pieces to complete.
Insert an elastic length each side and stitch in place (for holding the mask on your head).
Finished. This easy eye mask should have taken but minutes to cut out and assemble. Pop it on and have a nap.
