Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi has taken over the internet. Actor Taha Shah Badussha has been ruling hearts with his portrayal of Tajdar Baloch in the series. Presently, the actor is busy making waves at the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. FYI: Taha’s appearance on the red carpet this year marks his Cannes debut. Treating his fans to his glimpses from the French Riviera, Taha dropped a fresh set of pictures on Instagram.
The actor looked uber-cool in a peak-collared velvet jacket by fashion designer Kanishka Mehta. He teamed it with a crisp white formal shirt, which he styled in a button-down look, atop black velvet trousers and a pair of sneakers. Sharing the pictures, Taha wrote, “Feeling blue never looked so good under the Cannes sun.”

Taha Shah Badussha has rightly become the talk of the town. The actor is being lauded for his phenomenal screen presence and acting prowess in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi. However, before bagging the role of Tajdar Baloch, Taha struggled a lot to get his big break after 14 years in the industry. In a conversation with Instant Bollywood, Taha got candid about his life before and after Heeramandi. Taha said, “I have been in the film industry for 14 years and I got nothing. In the last 5-6 years, I was getting 500-600 likes on my Instagram posts but one day, boom… I started getting likes in lakhs and lakhs. My Instagram is buzzing, every 2-3 minutes I am getting a message.”
Taha Shah Badussha confessed on the camera that he goes “to parties to make contacts.” While that “didn’t help instantly”, now he is optimistic that “everybody will pick up my call.” He revealed, “I have tried to call casting directors and for six years they didn’t pick up my calls.”
Calling himself “desperate”, Taha Shah Badussha said that just to get a role he used to “make 40 calls each day.” The actor continued, “I live on my calendar. If I had called a person, I would make sure I called him/her again after two weeks. I have thousands of names on my calendar. I would make 40 calls each day. Cold calling is the best discipline anybody should go through… I am desperate. You should be desperate. If you are not desperate in life, you will not get anything and I am a living example of the same.”
In case you don’t know, Taha Shah Badussha marked his debut with the 2011 film Luv Ka The End. The actor was also seen in the 2013 film Gippi.
