Brazil: Santos playmaker Ganso has admitted that his future in Brazil is still uncertain, after he declined to pledge himself to the club beyond the end of the 2011 Brasileirao.
Currently on the sidelines due to a thigh injury suffered at the start of September on international duty with Brazil, the 22-year-old is in line to return to first-team action this Sunday against Flamengo. In the intervening period Santos have played 10 games, losing five and winning five.
Ganso's close friend and team-mate Neymar has already gone on record stating that, despite keen interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid, he has no intention of leaving until after the 2012 Copa Libertadores campaign. Questioned on the same subject, however, the midfielder could not give the same assurances.
"We will have to wait for the Club World Cup to finish to sit down and talk again about this," Ganso explained in an interview with Globoesporte on Tuesday.
"We cannot rush things at this point. I know that 2012 will be an important year for Santos, but I want to wait before making any type of decision."
Ganso has been a target for Italian sides Inter and AC Milan in the past, despite seeing various injury setbacks disrupt a large part of 2011.
