RCB star batter Virat Kohli was left frustrated with the match officials after his dismissal at the Eden Gardens on Sunday off KKR pacer Harshit Rana’s over in the fixture between the sides in the 2024 edition of the IPL.
Kohli was asked to walk back to the dugout as Rana scalped the batter, caught off his own ball, on a delivery which was perceived to be clearly over the permitted waist height.

The 35-year-old was baffled when the on-field umpires did not signal a no-ball despite him clearly meeting the ball well above his waist before the ball landed safely in the bowler’s hands.
The India batter opted for a DRS review of the same, but was left fuming as the decision from upstairs declared him out as he was well outside the batting crease and the trajectory of the slower delivery from the pacer seemed to be dipping.
He expressed his displeasure with the decision to the on-field umpires before walking back to the hut in frustration.

RCB openers Kohli and Faf du Plessis gave their side a good start as they put up 27 runs in the first two overs of the chase, after KKR had set the visitors a target of 223 runs to win.
However, KKR got the breakthrough they needed with the dismissal of Kohli.
RCB won the toss and opted to field first as KKR breached the 200-run mark yet again this season thanks to the electric start they were provided by Englishman Phil Salt, who made 48 runs off just 14 deliveries.
Skipper Shreyas Iyer top scored with 50 runs off 36 deliveries, while Rinku Singh added a 24-run contribution in the 16 balls he faced.
KKR went past the coveted 200-run mark thanks to a late onslaught from middle order batter Ramandeep Singh, who made 24 off just 9 deliveries and finished the innings unbeaten alongside Andre Russell, who made 27 off 20 deliveries.
