India and South Africa are set to go head-to-head in the first semi-final of the ongoing ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup. The match will be hosted at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on February 6. India, who entered the tournament as the reigning champions, have lived up to the expectations.
They haven’t endured a single defeat during the campaign. India topped Group A by winning all three matches and reached the Super Six round with four points, thanks to the triumphs over Bangladesh and Ireland.
The Indian brigade was up against New Zealand and Nepal in the Super Six stage and showed their dominance on both occasions. They secured a 214-run victory over the Kiwis before beating Nepal by 132 runs.
Meanwhile, the South African U-19 side has so far lost just one game which came in a rain-affected encounter against England in the group stage. In the Super Six round, South Africa notched a 9-wicket victory over Zimbabwe before defeating Sri Lanka by 119 runs in a one-sided affair.
