Heartbroken Pakistan Fan Who Sold Tractor to Buy IND vs PAK Ticket Worth PKR 8 Lakh Heckled by Indian Fans

The exorbitant ticket prices for India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup game at the Nassau County Stadium, New York, were no deterrent for the die-hard fans who made the trip to the Big Apple to witness the IND vs PAK clash. But, Pakistan fans were disappointed and heartbroken for the seventh time in T20 World Cups.

The latest loss will be tough to digest for the Pakistan fans as this was a game that Pakistan dominated for the major part, yet fell six runs short of a modest target of 120, much to the disbelief of the Pakistan fans. One such fan, who had made a significant sacrifice by selling his tractor to buy a USD 3000 ticket (INR 2,50,000 approx./8,40,000 approx. Pakistani Rupee), was visibly heartbroken and shaken by the loss as he was interviewed right after the game.

“I have sold my tractor to get a ticket worth USD 3000. When we saw the score of India, we didn’t think that we were going to lose this game. The game was in our hands but after Babar Azam got out, people were disheartened…I congratulate you all,” said the fan, his voice trembling with emotion, even as Indian fans surrounded the poor chap and started heckling him with ‘India jeetega‘ chants.

Trying very hard to maintain his composure, the fan added that the game was there for Pakistan to win, and the loss was quite embarrassing before the India fans’ chants drowned out his voice. One fan even went on to mock the interviewer, saying, Bhai Dolce and Gabbana ke chasme pehnke Pakistan ka interview loge, hamara nahi loge (Brother, you will take a Pakistani’s interview wearing Dolce & Gabbana glasses, but not ours.)”

As for the match, India posted 119 courtesy of Rishabh Pant’s 42 after a considerable rain delay, while Naseem Shah picked up three wickets for Pakistan.
