'Galat Likha Hai': Jasprit Bumrah Raises Objection To Being Called As 'Right-Arm Medium' Pacer – WATCH
In a video going viral on the internet, a young Bumrah can be seen raising objection to being called a right-arm medium and instead saying that he is a right-arm fast bowler.

Jasprit Bumrah is arguably the best bowler across formats at present times. The 30-year-old Indian was in red-hot form for the Men in Blue in the T20 World Cup 2024, which the Rohit Sharma-led side won by defeating South Africa in the final played on June 29 in Barbados. Bumrah picked up 15 wickets in eight matches of the shorest format megaevent played in the West Indies and USA, and for his super show with the bat, he won the Player of the Tournament award.

The speedster, who made his India debut in January 2016, hasn’t played any competitive match since the T20 World Cup 2024 final but will be seen in action during the first Test against Bangladesh, which is set to start on September 19 in Chennai.

Ahead of Indian players training camp at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, a video of Bumrah is going viral on the internet, in which he can be seen expressing displeasure after being called a right-arm medium pacer. According to the Ahmedabad-based cricketer, he is a right-arm fast bowler.

Bumrah first made headlines in 2013 when he dismissed Virat Kohli on his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians against RCB. He has been associated with MI since the start of his IPL career and got a chance to play for India in the fifth ODI of the five-match series against Australia in January 2016. Since his debut against the six-time ODI World Cup winners at Sydney Cricket Ground, Bumrah has established himself as one of the most important players.

He made a comeback from a long-term back injury last year in August and since then has been in red-hot form. He dismissed 20 batters in the ODI World Cup 2023 and then played a big role in helping India beat England 4-1 in the five-match Test series at home earlier this year.

He picked up nine wickets for India in the second Test against the Ben Stokes-led side in Visakhapatnam and won the Player of the Match award. His superb performance in the second Test also helped him reach the No. 1 position in the ICC Test bowler’s ranking.

Bumrah is the first bowler and fourth cricketer overall in history to reach the No. 1 position in all three formats of the game.
