Thalapathy Vijay is one of the biggest superstars in the South film industry and enjoys a massive fan following. The actor has had an illustrious career and has been a part of almost 67 films across different languages. Apart from impressing the audience with his acting abilities, Vijay is known for his philanthropic activities. He also has a fandom-turned-welfare organisation named Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (VMI), which has been at the forefront of helping underprivileged people. Currently, Vijay is awaiting the release of his highly-anticipated film Leo, which is all set to release on October 19. Now, it has been found that his fans and members of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam went to the temple to pray for the film.
As per reports, the fans were spotted at the Mangaladevi Kannagi Temple, which is located on the border of the Theni district of Tamil Nadu. The members of VMI and some of his fans were spotted there carrying posters of Leo and performing the rituals on behalf of Vijay. They were also spotted distributing alms and even organising Pongal services for the people in the temple.
The head priest at the Kannagi temple revealed that the organisation offered food to elderly people at old age homes and to the people living near the Perumal temple. It was reported that a large number of people were seen visiting the temple to seek blessings for Vijay and the success of his next film, Leo.
Recently, the director of Leo, Lokesh Kanagaraj, was also seen visiting the famous Tirupati temple in Tamil Nadu with writer Rathna Kumar. Reportedly, two had gone there to seek blessings for the success of Leo.
Leo is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film has an ensemble cast and also stars Trisha Krishnan as the female lead. Vijay and Trisha will be seen together after a 14-year gap. Sanjay Dutt will also be seen playing a negative role in the film.
