Police officials have been deployed outside Chennai’s iconic Rohini Theatre days after Thalapathy Vijay’s fans damaged the hall. The high security comes at a time when Lokesh Kanagaraj’s directorial has finally hit theatres. In a video that the news agency ANI shared on the microblogging site X, a number of cops can be seen outside the movie hall, guarding its entrance and managing the crowd.
Earlier this month, Vijay’s fans vandalised this hall in Chennai during Leo trailer screening. A video of the incident had also surfaced on social media, prompting the state government to take action. Following the unfortunate incident, the Tamil Nadu government asked theatre owners to ban teaser or trailer celebrations inside movie halls.

It should be noted that while Leo released in several states including Kerala and Karnataka in the wee hours of Thursday. However, Vijay’s fans in Tamil Nadu could not see it before 9 am. As per the orders by the state government, Leo will not have an early morning show. While the first show will begin at 9 am, it can go on till 1:30 am.
Meanwhile, microblogging site X is flooded with netizens praising Lokesh Kanagaraj’s directorial. Leo is an action thriller which also stars Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Menon, Mysskin and Priya Anand in pivotal roles. The film also features Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. Rathna Kumar and Deeraj Vaidy co-wrote the script with Lokesh Kanagaraj. The music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander and its cinematography and editing have been handled by Manoj Paramahamsa and Philomin Raj, respectively.
