Thalapathy Vijay’s highly anticipated film, Leo, has been released globally today, and his fans have gone to great lengths to celebrate this occasion. Reports suggest that the city of Puducherry has been adorned with around 100 posters featuring the actor in various avatars to mark the film’s release.
The district collector, Vallavan, confirmed that the film’s release in Puducherry was scheduled for 7 in the morning, while in Tamil Nadu, it hit theatres at 9 a.m.
In another remarkable display of fan dedication, a Vijay admirer, Navin Kumar, hailing from Puducherry, created an astonishing sculpture of the actor’s character in Leo. The sculpture, standing at an impressive three feet tall, was constructed using 10 kilograms of newspaper clippings.
It appeared to be crafted from a metal-like material, possibly brass, and the level of detail and colouration in the statue left onlookers astounded. The character Leo, as portrayed by Vijay, was depicted holding a sword.
Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by SS Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy, has drawn a stellar cast. Thalapathy Vijay plays the titular role, with Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Trisha, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mysskin, and Priya Anand also featuring in prominent roles. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and it is reported to be a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. The project boasts a substantial budget ranging from 250 to 300 crores.
Anticipation for the film has been exceptionally high, as it is expected to make an opening collection of around Rs 130 crores, with Rs 100 crores already accumulated through pre-release business. On the first day of release, ticket sales for the film crossed the one million mark, with the state of Kerala leading the way, generating approximately Rs 7.25 crore in ticket sales.
