US: At Least 7 Shot, One Killed In Weekend Gun Violence Across Chicago
Multiple shootings reported in Chicago, leaving one dead and several injured. Police investigate incidents across the city

At least seven people were shot, and one was killed in a weekend marred by gun violence in the US city of Chicago, police said. The incident in the city’s Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side early Saturday morning happened in the 2600 block of North Sawyer Avenue at approximately 6:30 a.m.

A 29-year-old man was fatally shot and pronounced dead at the scene. Details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear, and no suspects have been apprehended. The police are actively investigating the incident, local media outlet ABC 7 Chicago reported.

Later on Saturday, another shooting incident unfolded in the city’s Old Town neighborhood on the North Side. At around 10:30 am, a 35-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the leg in the 1400 block of North Orleans Street.

According to police, the victim was shot by an individual inside a vehicle. He was transported to Northwestern Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition. As with the earlier incident, no suspects have been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing. Chicago police are looking into separate shootings involving two teenagers on the city’s North Side.
