North Korea may have rolled out an anti-smoking drive but its Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un seems unaffected by it.

The country's state media published a photograph this week of Kim holding a cigarette in his hand, with smoke rising from the tip, CNN reported.

The photo was snapped while Kim was "providing field guidance" to a children's camp in capital Pyongyang, according to state-run news agency KCNA.

The agency reported that non-smoking research stations were put up in provincial capitals since the anti-smoking campaign was announced in May.

Kim, known to be a chain smoker, wasn't pictured smoking for more than two months, according to the Korea Herald.

North Korea's action programme includes counselling for smokers and offering nonsmoking health supplements recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO).
