Donald Trump Wins New Hampshire Republican Primary, Haley Says Fight 'Far from over'
Former US president Donald Trump is on track to win the New Hampshire Republican primary defeating Nikki Haley, US media outlets reported.

The former US president Donald Trump won the New Hampshire Republican Primary, US news media outlets reported on Tuesday (local time). “You know we won New Hampshire three times now three. We win it every time. We win the primary. We win the generals. We won it and it’s a very, very special place to me,” Trump was quoted as saying by news broadcaster CNN.

Donald Trump’s second victory in the primary comes after his first win in the Iowa caucuses. This will accelerate the former president’s march to a third GOP presidential nomination.

His team is now setting their sights on wrapping up the primary early, targeting landslide victories in the early-voting states and clinching the GOP Presidential nomination by mid-March.

His rival, former US envoy to the UN and the former South Carolina governor, Nikki Haley appeared defiant even in the face of loss. “I want to congratulate Donald Trump. But. this race is far from over,” Haley said. “I have news for all of them: New Hampshire is first in the nation. It is not last in the nation,” she further added.

“At one point in this campaign, there were 14 of us running, and we were at 2% in the polls. Well, I’m a fighter. And I’m scrappy. And now we’re the last ones standing next to Donald Trump,” Haley said.

Trump also took potshots at Haley and said the former South Carolina governor did ‘poorly’. “She did very poorly actually. The governor said she’s going to win, she’s going to win, she’s going to win. Then she failed badly,” Trump said, according to the broadcaster.

Donald Trump won 54.4% of the votes polled, amassing 93,290 votes, the US broadcaster CNN said at the time of writing this report. Haley won 43.6% of the votes polled amassing 74,871 votes. It takes 1,215 of 2,429 delegates to win the nomination, the broadcaster said on its website.

The Trump campaign basked in glory after winning the primaries in the Granite state. They also asked Haley to bow out. “It’s time for unity, it’s time to take the fight to the Democrats, and for Nikki Haley: it’s time to drop out,” Taylor Budowich, the CEO of MAGA Inc., said in a statement, accessed by CNN.

“Nikki Haley said she’s running to stop the re-election of Harris-Biden. Yet, without a viable path to victory, every day she stays in this race is another day she delivers to the Harris-Biden campaign,” Budowich added.
