'Won't Attend, Won't Sell': YouTuber With Coldplay Tickets Mocks Indian Fans, Clarifies After Outrage
YouTuber Lakshay Chaudhary, who secured four prime tickets to Coldplay's Mumbai concert, said that he will neither attend the British band's concert nor he will give the tickets to anyone else.

YouTuber Lakshay Chaudhary managed to get tickets for Coldplay’s India leg of the Music of the Spheres World Tour scheduled for January 2025. Chaudhary was among those lucky people who were able to secure tickets for the Mumbai concert despite technical glitches and long virtual queues. Chaudhary got four prime tickets right by the stage for the band’s live performance on January 21 at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. He later puts up a story on Instagram, saying that he will neither attend the concert nor sell the tickets. This frustrated Coldplay India fans, who tagged the ticketing site BookMyShow to cancel Chaudhary’s tickets. After the massive outrage, he issued a clarification in his Instagram stories.

How did it all start?

“IDGAF about Coldplay concert. I am neither their fan nor do I want to attend the event,” Chaudhary wrote while sharing a screenshot of the tickets on his Instagram Story.

He added, “Still managed to get four tickets. Life is unfair bro. Na tickets dunga, na jaunga [Neither I will give tickets, nor I will go].”

“Lage raho queue mein [Keep waiting in the queue],” he further wrote.

Outrage on social media

“Such people don’t deserve anything. He posted another story where he said life is unfair and people need to move on, so why the hell was he even in the queue?” wrote an individual on Reddit.

Another expressed on X (formerly known as Twitter), “I refuse to believe these people are mentally okay because why would you block actual Coldplay fans from going to their concert?”

“Shows their upbringing. Taking pride in others misery when you’re part of the crowd who has made the real fans suffer,” shared a third.

A fourth commented, “Top sadist level behaviour.”

“I literally live minutes away from the venue. I will hear music and see a light show. It will be like Rubbing salt over wounds. Heartbroken. Sleep crying today,” posted a fifth.

YouTuber clarifies after outrage

Chaudhary, whose Instagram bio mentions that he “lost 1.2 million followers,” issued a statement. In the video, he questioned what his critics would lose if he chose not to attend the concert. He further clarified that he isn’t foolish enough to book four tickets and then not go.

He explained his stance with an example, saying, “I’m a UFC fan. UFC is happening in India. There’s a seating capacity of one lakh. If someone buys all one lakh tickets and tears them up, I still wouldn’t be bothered. I still wouldn’t act like that. It’s their money; they can do whatever they want with it.”

“There’s no logic in someone booking a ticket, spending 50-60 thousand rupees, and then not going. It just doesn’t make any sense,” he further added.
